VIEW REPORT

As an immigrant to Canada, I feel incredibly blessed to live in a democratic country. And from a young age, I felt a strong urge to give back to my community and the country that is my new home. So I became incredibly committed and involved in doing my part to make Canada a better place. In 2007, I represented Canadian youth at the International AIDS conference in Mexico City. In 2009, I was a Canadian Youth Delegate at the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference. And from 2011 to now, I have been a leading voice in the Youth Vote movement in Canada. As the co-founder of Vote Mob and Vote Savvy, my goal is to empower Canadian youth to realize the political power we hold as one of the largest voting blocs in the country.

01
Vote Mobs

I am the co-founder of the national 'Vote Mob' movement that swept across Canada in the 2011 federal election. In just 31 days, over 45 Vote Mobs took place across Canada, with a vote mob taking place coast to coast from Whitehorse to Cape Breton. The largest vote mob gathering took place in London, Ontario where over 1,500 student and community members came together to celebrate Canada and promote voting. As Rick Mercer stated on a CTV interview, Vote Mobs are “one of the most positive things I’ve ever seen.”

Vote Savvy

Vote Savvy is a national, youth-led, party-neutral movement working to empower young Canadians to be savvy when it comes to their political choices! Our mission is to catalyze and support a national, multi-partisan movement to mobilize youth to engage politically by making the political process accessible, enjoyable and empowering.

You wouldn't let your parents swipe for you on tinder, so why would you let them vote for you?
